The Story

Hi, I’m Michael, the creator of Clarity & Style.

The seeds of this business were planted in 2003 when I began proofreading for professors at the University of Windsor, Canada. I’ll never forget how amazing it felt to be acknowledged in that first publication.

When I arrived in Portugal in 2011, it quickly became apparent that English language proofreading is imperative for second-language speakers writing for international journals. With the experience gained proofreading in Canada, I was quickly full of Portuguese requests to review articles from a very wide variety of fields. As word-of-mouth regarding the quality of my work spread, I was soon receiving requests from academics all over Europe.

The Clarity & Style you see today spawns out of the demand I worked hard to develop over those 5 years. Now back in Canada, Clarity and Style continues to work with clients from around the world to produce high quality publications in academics and literature.

The realization of this business has only been possible with the support and efforts of my friends and colleagues who you can meet below. Beyond all being very careful and professional editors and translators, I am also proud to say they are all my friends. From Canada - to Portugal - to Germany - and beyond, the team at Clarity & Style is proud to be internationally organized and in a position to meet and work with colleagues the world over!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments you may have.
